As a coach, your athletes rely on you not only for training plans and data analysis but also for guidance in managing the mental side of performance. How athletes think, interpret feedback, and respond to pressure often determines whether their hard work pays off—or unravels when it matters most. Our online course, “Mental Strength & Resiliency,” gives you a complete toolkit to coach your athletes on the mental side of performance.
You’ll learn how to:
- Help athletes manage negative thoughts and feelings using stoic principles and neuroscience-based regulation tools from Dr. Simon Marshall and pro triathlete and world champion Lesley Paterson.
- Turn feedback into progress, applying Grant Holicky’s approach to Self-Determination Theory so athletes stay motivated and open to change.
- Guide athletes to effective self-talk, helping them create automatic, confident inner dialogue for training, racing, and recovery.
- Redirect your athletes to focus on controllable actions so they come to see failure as data, not identity, and stay engaged despite setbacks.
- Integrate mindset training into workouts with on-bike and post-session reflection prompts, short language scripts, and pre-race composure routines that fit naturally into your existing coaching plan.
This course gives coaches structured approaches and the language to develop stronger mental skills in their athletes. By coaching more than training plans and power numbers, you’ll see your athletes perform with greater focus, purpose, and resilience.
