Griffin McMath, ND

Dr. Griffin McMath is a cohost of Fast Talk podcast, where she brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and real-world athletic experience to conversations in endurance sport. With a background in naturopathic medicine, nutrition, supplements, lifestyle counseling, and health communication, she helps make complex science feel clear, engaging, and actionable for athletes and coaches alike.

As former Chief Content Officer at Fast Talk Laboratories, Dr. McMath inherited a high standard—and worked to preserve its clarity, deepen its purpose, and quietly expand its potential. Rather than making sweeping external changes, she focused on internal shifts: clarifying the “how” and “who” behind the content, questioning systems, and helping position the platform for thoughtful, sustainable growth. That foundation now supports a broader, more specialized team serving a growing community.

Dr. McMath is especially drawn to the lived experience of the recreational and adventure athlete. She’s helped cultivate partnerships that connect these athletes to the insights often reserved for competitive sport. One example close to home: Expedition Detroit—a community-driven initiative rooted in the belief that the Detroit region is a world-class outdoor destination worth exploring, celebrating, and protecting.

Her style is curious, spirited, and attuned to the human side of performance. Whether unpacking physiology research, questioning training culture, or digging into recovery and resilience, she brings a conversational yet informed voice to every episode.

While training for a 100-mile race abroad under the guidance of cohost Rob Pickels, Griffin was sidelined by a wild animal encounter (yes—an actual moose). That experience has sharpened her focus on the neuroscience of recovery, trauma, and the emotional journey of returning to sport. She’s particularly invested in supporting amateur athletes in building sustainable, intentional relationships with their training and well-being—through seasons of striving, setback, and everything in between.

She has interviewed leaders across sport science, nutrition, and coaching, always with a deep respect for both evidence and lived experience.
