USA Cycling CEU Course The Art & Science of Training Plan Creation

The Art & Science of Training Plan Creation

Explore how eight master coaches craft the most effective training plans in endurance sports.

In a new CEU course from USA Cycling, “The Art and Science of Training Plan Creation,” coaches can earn 4 CEUs exploring:

  • The basics of building a training plan
  • Best practices in onboarding new athletes
  • Pre-season preparation
  • Building the annual training plan and base season schedules
  • Advanced methods to execute a training plan with an athlete

While any certified coach can write a solid training plan, this online course drawing from The Craft of Coaching with Joe Friel explores the time-tested approaches of master coaches who have decades of experience: Joe Friel, Dean Golich, Jim Miller, Houshang Amiri, Trevor Connor, Adam Pulford, Ryan Kohler, and Dave Schell.

How to Enroll

  • Beginning November 1, 2024, USA Cycling CEU live online events will be provided through a new platform hosted at learn.usacycling.org instead of through etrainu.
  • All USA Cycling coaches who have previously registered for etrainu can use the same username and email they used for etrainu to access their accounts on learn.usacycling.org.
  • On October 23, 2024, USA Cycling sent new password info to all USA Cycling coaches to access the new online learning platform.
  • Coaches do not need to cancel etrainu accounts or do anything to migrate CEUs. All previously earned CEUs will be ported to the new learning platform by November 1. Coaches will be able to view all previously completed courses on their dashboard in the new learning platform.
  • Going forward, learn.usacycling.org will host all CEU courses.
