Nate Dunn

Nate Dunn’s passion for endurance training began in high school when he first used a heart rate monitor. Captivated by the numbers that reflected his effort, he soon added a GPS cycling computer and power meter to his toolkit, discovering how data could make training both more effective and enjoyable.
This love for performance and data inspired Nate to earn a Master of Science in Kinesiology (Exercise Science). In 2010, he founded Data Driven Athlete, a coaching service dedicated to helping cyclists of all levels achieve their goals using technology and evidence-based strategies.

A USA Cycling Level 1 Coach, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN), Nate brings over 15 years of experience in fitness and health to his coaching.

He is also the author of Ride Basic: A Minimalist Guide to Maximize Your Cycling, a practical book designed to help cyclists cut through the noise of endless training advice. The guide emphasizes the most effective strategies for long-term cycling success, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider looking to refine the fundamentals.

As a coach and author, Nate specializes in turning complex ideas into simple, actionable steps. He offers personalized guidance to help cyclists navigate today’s overwhelming world of fitness technology and focus on what truly matters—enjoying their best rides and reaching their full potential.
