Jim Rutberg

Jim Rutberg is an author and CTS coach based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jim Rutberg has been an athlete, coach, content creator, and communications specialist in the outdoor sports, endurance coaching, and cycling event industries for more than 20 years. He has helped promote national and international events and written and ghostwritten thousands of web and magazine articles.

He is the Media Director and a coach for CTS. Along the way, he produced dozens of indoor cycling training videos and co-authored nine books on training and sports nutrition for cycling, triathlon, and ultrarunning, including The Time-Crunched Cyclist and Time-Crunched Triathlete with Chris Carmichael, Training Essentials for Ultrarunning with Jason Koop, and Ride Inside with Joe Friel. Jim’s work has appeared in Bicycling, Outside, Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, VeloNews, Road Bike Action, Inside Triathlon, USA Cycling, and more.

A graduate of Wake Forest University and former elite-level cyclist, Jim lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with two sons, Oliver and Elliot.
